Version of the operating system

If you want to find out what the version number of your operating system is, follow these steps:

1. Right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties from the shortcut menu.
3. On the General tab look for the information about your system.

The number below "Microsoft Windows ..." is your version number (includes the sub version number, if existing).

1. Open a DOS-Box.
2. Type the command ver.

The number in brackets is your version number.
